Your email address, when you ask for an invitation. It is used to send you an invitation to DuelEdge when it opens. That is one purpose, and it is the only one you are asked to agree to.

If you also ticked the separate box for news about DuelEdge after launch, that is a second and entirely optional purpose. You can say yes to the first and no to the second, and nothing about the first changes if you do.

We do not ask for your name, your province, your team, or anything else. Being on an invitation list does not require knowing who you are.

When you ask for an invitation we send you a link, and your address is added to the list only when you click it. Until you do, your address is not stored anywhere — it exists only in the email we sent to you.

The link works for seven days. If you never click it, nothing is kept.

We count visits using Umami, analytics software we run ourselves on our own server in Québec.

It sets no cookies, stores no identifier that follows you between visits or between sites, and builds no profile of you. It records the page visited, the site that referred you, the country, and the type of device. Nothing in that identifies you.

That is why this site has no cookie banner: there is nothing to ask you to consent to.

Two companies process information on our behalf, both outside Québec, in the United States:

• Our website host, which serves these pages and necessarily sees the requests your browser makes, including your IP address.
• Our email provider, which stores the invitation list and delivers the messages we send you.

Because those two providers operate in the United States, your email address and your visit to this site are handled outside Québec, where different laws apply — including laws that can require a company to disclose information to United States authorities.

Before using either provider we assessed whether the information would be adequately protected, as Québec law requires, and we have a written agreement with each. Our own visit measurement is not affected: it runs on our server in Québec and goes nowhere.

Your address is kept until the purpose you gave it for is fulfilled. If that purpose was to receive an invitation, it is fulfilled when the invitation is sent, and the address is then destroyed or made anonymous unless you also agreed to hear from us afterwards.

You do not have to wait for that. You can ask us to remove you at any time.

You can, at any time and at no cost:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
• Have it corrected if it is wrong or incomplete.
• Withdraw your consent, which takes you off the list.
• Ask for it to be deleted.
• Ask for it in a structured, commonly used technological format, so you can take it elsewhere.

Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and using it is enough. You can also write to [email protected] and ask. Withdrawing is as easy as agreeing was, which is how it is supposed to be.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

If personal information is lost or accessed by someone who should not have it, and that creates a risk of serious harm to you, we will tell you and notify the Commission d'accès à l'information.

If this page changes in a way that affects what we do with information already collected, we will ask you again rather than assume the old agreement covers the new purpose.
